Hello everyone and welcome back to Styling with Jade, this week I will be chatting to you about the use of a feature tile in either your bathroom or kitchen. A lot of people are either to scared to use a bold tile or are unsure on how to use a feature tile.
My first tip on using a feature tile is if your unsure, grab a sample and take it back to the area you are planning to tile. This will help you to gain more of a vision on what the area will look like with the tile.
My next tip is if your not confident restrain from covering all the walls or floor and just use the tile on either one wall or one specific area that you want to be the focus. I’ve left some examples below of some of the areas you could use a feature tile in.Sometimes you don’t even need a bright flashy tile to achieve a focus point in your room. One of the most popular ways to differentiate a plain boring tile is to choose a different coloured grout. This will make the tiles pop more and draw your eyes to this area. Another way you could change up a plain boring tile is to change the pattern it is placed on the wall or floor in. For example this herringbone pattern below (right side) has become very popular in recent years and adds a little bit of class to any room. For more pattern options please click here. My last tip regarding feature tiles is really think about the look you are trying to achieve before you pick the tile as this can either completely make or break your room. While this does sound scary if you do your research you will be able to pull off an amazing new style for your bathroom or kitchen that people will think a professional has done.So with that I am off for another week, if you have anything you would like to share including pictures of your own restyles using a feature tile or your own advice please leave them down in the comments below. Also if you have any suggestions of what you would like to see me write about in the future please leave those in the comments below aswell. And lastly if you would like to contact me privately you can do so using the link in the menu at the top of this page.
Thankyou for reading and I will be back next Sunday with a new post.
